In the spirit of Throwback Thursday, I figured I’d dig into my personal metal archives to see what I was listening to back then. It honestly didn’t take me long to decide which band I wanted to reminisce about. This Song of the Week is going out to Boston’s Disappearer… who have ironically dropped off the face of the earth. Their album The Clearing dropped back in 2009 and it made my top 10 albums of the year list. I have a thing for bands that mix rebel punk-like vocals with heavy stoner riffs. It’s the absolute perfect combination.

I said this back then but I’ll say it again… this album is greatly under appreciated. I owe this track especially for turning me on to the art that lies within the smoky post-metal genre.

The Clearing digital album is available for $3 at Bandcamp.

The Clearing CD is available for $1.99 at Magic Bullet Records.
