Song of the Week #28

England’s progressive post-metalists’ Latitudes released their third full-length album Old Sunlight back in January and, overall, it’s a solid body of work though I felt like a little something was missing.

Nevertheless, my Song of the Week is the first released single called “Body Within a Body”. It’s the most engaging track on the album without a doubt and I love how it starts right off the bat with a wall of atmospheric intensity and hauntingly weary vocals. It has this gorgeous lull in the middle of the track where organs and ambience take over and a harmonious hymn comes into fruition. The intensity shortly returns though in the form of major guitar riffs and drum grooves that’ll nearly leave you in a coma by the end.

Check it out below.
